Our view
To reach net zero, we need to develop renewable energy projects on a large scale and fast in developing countries, where two-thirds of emissions are projected.
The problem is that renewables projects are often stopped or delayed because of a lack of social buy-in and environmental licence.
Many developing regions have experienced exploitation, resource extraction, or neglect under colonial or corporate systems.
